WE ALL LOVE ABBA -  EXPANDED EDITION - NEW BOOK!

THE LEGACY OF ABBA VOLUME ONE & VOLUME TWO
(ENGLISH VERSION)

While fans and pop-music lovers alike are still taking in the news of ABBA’s inconceivable comeback with the album Voyage and their Avatar concerts scheduled in London next year, a brand-new, up-to-date two-volume book set sees the light of day on 7th October 2021.

The Legacy of ABBA by Stany Van Wymeersch features his unique interviews and meetings with the ABBA members as well as talks with some of their closest collaborators (Lasse Wellander, Bernard Löhr, Hans Löfvenberg, Janne Schaffer,…). The new ABBA songs are also discussed.

The book set includes a foreword by the esteemed theatre director and arts producer Jude Kelly CBE, who curated both official ABBA: Super Troupers exhibitions in London.
Exclusively, an array of international stars – among others, Tony Hadley (Spandau Ballet), Kiki Dee, Kim Wilde and Paul Young – shed their light on the supergroup’s legacy in surprising and insightful ways.

The books are also a showcase for the talent of such great photographers as Anders Hanser Bubi Heilemann, Alberto Tolot, Gered Mankowitz, Govert de Roos and Larsåke Thuresson. Several photos are here published for the very first time. As the icing on the cake, The Legacy of ABBA - Volume Two contains many rare and unpublished photos from the vaults of Belgian pop magazine Joepie’s photographers Marcel Van Landeghem and Hugo Heyndrickx.

Last but not least, Stany turns his spotlight on Hollywood and cinema, with interviews of several cast members from the Mamma Mia! films as well as directors Stephan Elliott (Priscilla, Queen of the Desert) and Lasse Hallström (ABBA: The Movie), and Dallas star Audrey Landers.

ABBA.

Stany Van Wymeersch on nelja eduka ABBA-st rääkiva raamatu autor. Tema esimesele raamatule „Letʼs Talk About ABBA“ järgnes „We All Love ABBA“, seejärel kaheosaline „The Legacy of ABBA“.

Raamatu tagakaanel olev QR-kood viib Spotify playlist’i. Kuula näiteks: „S.O.S.“ (ABBA) – „Sunny Girl“ (Hep Stars) – „The Winner Takes It All“ (ABBA) – „En ledig dag“ (Frida) – „Thank You for the Music“ – „Gabrielle“ (Hootenanny Singers) – „Super Trouper“ (ABBA) – „Jag var så kär“ (Agnetha Fältskog) – „When I Kissed the Teacher“ (ABBA).

WE ALL LOVE ABBA (ENGLISH VERSION)

Following on from his well-received book 'Let’s Talk About ABBA', Stany Van Wymeersch now turns the spotlight on how musicians and other creatives from a surprising array of genres have been inspired to draw from ABBA’s mesmerizing musical canon.

The artists’ narratives, from Suzi Quatro to James Last and from Pete Waterman right through to the Sex Pistols, firmly illustrate that ABBA, and their music, have clearly left an indelible fingerprint on the music-making of a wide and diverse range of firmly established and respected musical artists. Some even went so far as to integrate or recraft ABBA’s music to sculpt their own unique projects.

Whilst the fascinatingly open and frank interviews of We All Love ABBA tackle the ABBA phenomenon in a highly refreshing and global pop culture kind of way, the selected photographs of ABBA and their peers, by renowned lensmen such as Brad Elterman, Govert de Roos and Aad Spanjaard, secure an enjoyable visual trip that starts in the ‘70s and ends in 2016.

The icing on the cake are three unique letters written to ABBA, a photo story featuring Michiel Gunning (pop journalist/ABBA expert) and Dutch girl group Luv’, and finally, a CD-single by Belgian artist Embracingfranki that features a recording at ABBA’s legendary Polar Studios.

Interviewees include: Pete Waterman (Stock/Aitken/Waterman), Suzi Quatro, Giorgio Moroder, Andy Scott (Sweet), Neil Sedaka, James Last, Connie Francis, Andy Bell (Erasure), Liz Mitchell (Boney M.), Terry Uttley (Smokie), Glen Matlock (Sex Pistols), Hazell Dean, Conchita Wurst, Carl Magnus Palm (ABBA biographer), Judy Craymer (creator/producer Mamma Mia), Judy McLane (Broadway star), Rod Stephen (Björn Again), Per Herrey (Herrey’s) and Brian May (Queen) and girl group Luv'.
